Congressional Briefing: A Call for Sanctions Against the CCP for Human Rights Violations

 

On October 11, 2018, a U.S. Congressional briefing entitled “A Final Attempt to Defend Human Rights in China” was held on Capitol Hill, Washington. Christians from The Church of Almighty God(CAG) were invited to attend and speak to congressional staff and foreign policy experts on the ongoing situation of persecution of Christians of this Church by the CCP. A number of representatives of other groups suffering brutal suppression by the Chinese government also spoke. Ms Tina L. Mufford, Deputy Director of Research and Policy at the US Commission on International Religious Freedom, also attended as a special guest and spoke on the dire state of human rights in China.

On August 31, 2018, agents assigned by the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) organized some relatives of Christians from The Church of Almighty God (CAG) who had fled to South Korea from China, to hold a press conference at the Jeju Parliament under the pretext of “seeking for relatives.” They strongly requested the Korean authorities to deport the displaced Christians back to China.

On November 28, 2017, in response to concurrent public attacks and smears againstThe Church of Almighty God in Hong Kong, Taiwan, and South Korea, South Korean human rights expert Do Heeyoun and eight other non-governmental organizations jointly condemned the Chinese Communist government for its many years of brutal persecution against The Church of Almighty God, and expressed the view that the asylum applications of Christians of The Church of Almighty God should be recognized by their respective host nations.

The American Christian Film Festival was founded in order to serve as a concentrated exhibit of outstanding Christian film and television works. Each year, hundreds of films are shortlisted for the exhibition, including full-length movies, musicals, cartoons, documentaries, educational videos, and more.
